COMOMIRROR™ Acrylic Resin Sheet (PMMA)

COMOMIRROR™ is an extruded methacrylic resin sheet (COMOGLAS™) on which aluminum is vacuum deposited. Since methacrylic resin has better transparency than glass, the reflectivity of the mirror surface is extremely high, creating a sense of luxury. It is also safer than glass, weighing approximately half as much and with no shards flying off in the event of an emergency. Therefore, it is possible to freely, safely, and spectacularly produce commercial and interior spaces.

COMOMIRROR™ Processability

Machining

Cutting and milling can be processed in the same way as for general acrylic extruded sheets. When cutting, the painted side should be on the top (mirror side on the bottom) to avoid scratches. Conversely, when laser processing, the coated surface should face up (mirror surface down) and be installed in such a way that the laser beam is not reflected.

Bonding Process

Mirror surfaces can be bonded in the same way as general acrylic extrusion sheets. When adhering to painted surfaces, thick double-sided tape is recommended to be applied to the entire surface.

Precautions for Use

  • Distortion may be observed depending on the installation location and mounting method, so please take this into consideration for figure-viewing applications.
  • Do not use outdoors or in places with high temperatures and humidity.
