Kuraray's Acrylic Materials Offer Unique Building Material Solutions: PARAPET™ SA
PARAPET™ SA is a one-of-a-kind transparent acrylic material that achieves flexibility without the use of plasticizers.
While retaining the "transparency" and "Weatherability" that are the characteristics of methacrylic resin, it can also provide "impact resistance" and "flexibility," giving it a performance different from that of conventional acrylics. Furthermore, it does not contain phthalate esters (plasticizers), one of the substances that cause sick building syndrome and other problems, and thus provides a comfortable living environment.
It also has superior Weatherability compared to soft PVC and ester-based TPU, enabling long-term aesthetic maintenance in outdoor construction materials. Its mold resistance allows it to be used longer in humid environments, resulting in reduced maintenance frequency and renewal costs.
How to Use PARAPET™ SA
Injection molding applications: Door guards (both shock absorption and appearance quality)

What is PMMA?
PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), also known as acrylic glass, is a transparent thermoplastic resin. This material is known for its optical clarity, Weatherability, and dimensional stability.
PMMA is extremely versatile and is used in a variety of fields, including architecture, advertising displays, and optical equipment, in addition to the automotive field.
In addition, PMMA is biocompatible, meaning it is not toxic to living organisms, making it suitable for medical applications.
PMMA is produced by polymerizing a substance called methyl methacrylate (MMA).

PARAPURE™ is a brand name for Kuraray's acrylic film grade, which creates new value as an acrylic film by applying the melt extrusion technology cultivated in the sheet business.
In addition to the inherent properties of acrylics, such as high transparency and high Weatherability, the chipping resistance and decorative moldability cultivated through the development of decorative films for automobiles are utilized to create a decorative film for construction materials that is resistant to scratches caused by external impact and abrasion, and can also be used in complex shapes.
